When this new refrigerator was delivered to my home on 8/1/25, I reported to the vendor that the drawers were misaligned and didn™€™t operate correctly and that the underside of the metal ice/water dispenser grate was razor sharp in spots and was an obvious safety hazard when cleaning. They quickly sent a technician to my home who confirmed both and that the drawer misalignment appeared to be a manufacturing defect associated with the refrigerator plastic liner that could not be adjusted. The vendor promptly replaced the entire unit on 8/8/2025 and the replacement had the same drawer problem, only worse and the ice dispenser metal grate under side had the same razor sharp edges. This was noted on the delivery record and reported to the vendor the same day. They contacted Whirlpool who sent their own contracted technician out on 8/13/25 to inspect the unit. He confirmed it appeared to again be a manufacturing defect with the plastic refrigerator liner, yet Whirlpool advised him to order and replace the drawers, shelves, and rail parts to avoid replacing the unit. I had to wait another week for the parts to arrive and subsequent replacement only to have it confirmed that the middle refrigerator drawer was still misaligned and would not open and close properly. As a result, I am returning this second replacement and will not agree to a third replacement since this is an obvious design flaw and a quality control issue that Whirlpool and KitchenAid do not wish to address. Note that when I later reviewed other purchaser™€™s ratings for this model, the drawer issue is apparently a frequent complaint that has not been resolved. I feel that the Kitchen Aid quality control has declined in recent years as I purchased a gas range and oven and a microwave oven several years ago and am extremely happy with both. I purchased this refrigerator and also a dishwasher recently in order to complete my matching Kitchen Aid suite. My opinion of Kitchen Aid has declined due to my negative experiences this month and why I can only give a one rating.

Ice build up and design flaws

I purchased this fridge together with matching dishwasher, oven and microwave in 2020. I had to swap the microwave already but this fridge is even worse. The ice maker broke in 2021 (repaired on warranty), since 2023 I had to defrost the fridge at least twice a year, now I am on a monthly schedule. Last year I had a technician coming which advised me to better avoid Kitchenaid and specifically this product line as it has multiple design flaws. Looking at the other 1-star reviews I find many of my issues as well: ice build-up, failing ice-maker, ripped cable in door harness of the deep freezer etc.. @Kitchenaid: you need to address these flwas in your product line. Not happy, specifically for the price

Great Fridge, except WATER LINE FREEZES

We bought this in October 2020. Due to delays, the refrigerator was not delivered until April 2021. We love everything about this refrigerator except the water dispenser. In 2024 the problems began when the water would not dispense. We have a home warranty contract and they have come out 6 times since 2024. Each time a different fix, each time a different solution is provided. The one thing that always happens is the "reservoir tank" behind the "wall" in the fridge freezes which causes no water to come through the line. There obviously was a design flaw in the one we received. Hopefully, this problem will not happen to you.

I bought this fridge as a set along with the in wall oven, 36" stove and dishwasher for my home in 2020. The fridge is a not well made at all. All of the fridge interior doors have broken or are breaking but secured by clear tape. Kitchenaid replaced them once but then it was out of warranty and now the tape is working but frustrating due to the poor engineering. The larger problems are the water dispenser and ice maker failing while out of warranty. The technician came to repair and noticed the biggest problem of all, the insulation between the fridge and freezer wasn't done correctly at the factory. The fridge side is super humid and ice forms on the wall between the fridge and freezer. You guessed it, it isn't repairable and Kitchenaid said too bad it isn't under warranty even though we caused it and you cant fix it. I would not buy this fridge until they fix the drawers, water maker, ice maker, and stand behind their product.

Expensive junk

The refrigerator was delivered the end of March 2025. From day one it did not sound good. It was loud and it would make a banging sound every once and a while. As of Monday April 5th through the evening of Wednesday April 7th we were getting a strange smell when the door was opened. When we woke Thursday morning, we found the freezer pack was thawed, along with melting ice cubs and thawing food. The temperature in the freezer was 37 degree and the refrigerator was 63 degrees. Obviously all the noise we heard was the compressor going up and we lost all the freon. We are currently waiting on service on the 12th, which they canceled on the 8th. We best get a new refrigerator, not at all happy with the product and the warranty service.

Avoid completely. Apart from a poor quality interior as other reviews have mentioned, we've had ours for just over 4 years and have already had to pay over $1,000 for malfunctioning or broken parts. All the money got put into the shiny metal doors on this one and not the refrigerator itself

We bought this in 2017, have had multiple repairs. I feel like a broken record after all these reviews , but we also had the freezer door replaced, ice maker not working multiple times, and now water is pooling in the fridge side. We bought the warranty through Lowe™€™s so they were helpful in replacing the door. Now that our ice maker isn™€™t working and water is pooling I™€™ve reached out to kitchen aid. I hope they choose to handle this in the correct manner. No one should spend all that money for something that is going to break down multiple times.

Overall spaciousness is good. Still figuring out the doors which seem to fly wide open pretty wildly.. you have sort of guide them back. We're not sure about the tiny ice cubes. Our last fridge made much bigger ones. Depth, from to back is bigger that's we expected. Not ideal for our kitchen. That's our fault. The wine slits on each end are thinner than the middle ones and barely fit a standard wine bottle. The drawers are a little wimpy in their construction so you don't want to manhandle those or overfill the drawers.

This refrigerator is a replacement for a previously defective one. The drawers now fit correctly but the doors on the fridge are closer together at the top but further spaced at the bottom. I had service come out he loosen the screws on top of freezer door and pulled door over slightly at top. It™€™s a small improvement but I am not completely satisfied. The refrigerator is functioning well so I guess I will live with the imperfect doors

After our house flooded with Hurricane Harvey the one thing I was excited about ordering were new appliances. I love the styling, features, and quality of KitchenAid products and was thrilled to purchase the 25.8 Cu. Ft. French Door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS), the beautiful dishwasher with a 3rd rack (KDTE304GPS), the 30" Double Oven with convection (KODE500ESS), and an enormous Microwave with a removable shelf for lots of options (KNHP519ESS) which had a special cherry cabinet built around it. Our kitchen was finally ready, just in time for Christmas 2018. The refrigerator was the first to have issues, with the ice maker leaking, stopping, freezing the entire thing up which had to be thawed with a hair dryer. We replaced the ice container 6/20, motor, seal and shaft 8/20, I/M leaking and stopped cooling on both sides 6/22. In August 2023 the entire fridge had quit working correctly and would have cost over 1K for parts which 'might' have solved the issue. Sadly our wonderful microwave started making a loud noise and quit running October 2023 and the technician gave us the news that the Magnetron shorted, and couldn't be fixed. We have a whole house surge protector so we know it wasn't caused by electrical issues. Now in the summer of 2024 our dishwasher quit working correctly. The motor has died in the main wash assembly. It would cost more than $600 as the entire bottom of the unit must be replaced. Since 3 of our 4 expensive KitchenAid appliances have failed I asked the technician about our very pricy oven which he warned us that if the heating element on the bottom goes out, the removal and repair for it will be astronomical, because of the way it is constructed. [ ] I absolutely love these appliances, they were all top notch and had every feature I could ever want, but I can't believe that I have spent over $10,000 and am having to replace 3 of the 4 in less than 6 years! I CANNOT RECOMMEND ANY KITCHENAID PRODUCT.

Sleek Look but not a quality product!

In 2020, I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Unfortunately, both products have proven to be highly problematic and costly to maintain. The refrigerator developed a serious issue with a clogged line, which led to a leak under the appliance. This leak caused extensive mold growth in the fridge, including the drip pan, and onto my hardwoods resulting in significant damage to my hardwood floors. Despite spending $200 on a technician who was unable to locate the leak, hiring another tech which was $200 + and another an additional $450 to replace the damaged floors, the problem persists. I now face an additional $400 expense to replace the molded drip pan and could have bought a new fridge at this point. If that's not enough now the ice machine has completley stopped working. Similarly, the KitchenAid dishwasher has been equally troublesome. The top tray, which is made of plastic, deteriorated and broke due to the pro dry heat feature. I had to spend $400 to get the top rack rebuilt, which should not have been necessary for an appliance of this quality. These experiences have led to substantial financial costs and significant inconvenience. I have spent hundreds of dollars attempting to repair and maintain these products, only to find myself in a position where I must now replace them.

I love the sleek look of the refrigerator and the round commercial look handles. The lighting inside is very bright and the quality is nice. The shelving in the doors is really not wide enough, from what I am used to and I miss the space I used to have. I'd rather have deeper shelving in the door than in the refrigerator itself. Just a personal preference and observation. Upon delivery of the refrigerator, we spent about 30 minutes removing plastic and tape from the inside and outside of the fridge. While I can appreciate the protection that went into this at the factory, It was a bit excessive and time consuming. Plus the tape was extremely strong and difficult to remove. The first week of owning the fridge, we could not figure out why the door didn't seem to close well. We moved one of the shelves up (which left a large, weird gap between the shelves) and that fixed the issue. But about a month into owning the fridge, we've enjoyed it.

Very disappointing Kitchen Aid refrigerator

Purchased this refrigerator in 7/22. In October 2022, the months after purchase, the freezer was building up frost in the back panel, that extended from top to bottom. Service person ordered part, that did not come in for 6 months. In March 2023, the part was in, repaired and everything was fine. I just noticed the same frost issue reoccurring. But, parts and labor are only good for another 4 months (7/2023). Now I'm forced to repair, what is a manufacture defect, and in occur any costs associated with it.

Sold a Lemon

Purchased this fridge "NEW" at CAS on Dec 8, 2023 and it worked for 2 weeks. Over the last week it has declined to a point where the fridge, freezer, and ice maker are no longer working. Called Whirlpool Service (as instructed) to make an appt, and technician advised that there is an overall cooling problem which is likely related to the compressor and possibly other components that have failed. This product obviously did not pass quality control and is frankly a lemon, and its disappointing to know that a product was able to leave the facility in this condition. Customer Service at Kitchen Aid was also NOT helpful as "repairs" of this magnitude should automatically be deemed not suitable for repair, and fridge should be replaced. I have yet to hear back from the Technician re next steps, as I am left without an operable fridge, and will need to discard of all food due to spoilage. Poor Product, and Poor Customer Service from Kitchen Aid is not acceptable, and customers should not have to force a company to do what is right! I am extremely dissatisfied with this product, and this is a poor customer experience.

Misleading install services.

Just received today. Looks good. Misleading install services listed though. They didn™€™t purge the water line, unpack interior, level unit, or test. These things are included in the install description. It is a lot of money for a refridgerator and shouldn™€™t be misleading. Will update as unit is used. Our similar 2004 model lasted 20 years. I can only hope this one will do the same and prove other reviews wrong.

I am very happy with the new refrigerator. The lighting is much brighter in the new model, and the shelves seem deeper and easier to access. The only complaint that I would have is that the vegetable and fruit drawers ( at the bottom of the fridge ) seem flimsy. The plastic roller component of the drawer is not as sturdy as my previous Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The drawers do not close as easily vrs my previous Kitchen Aid refrigerator.

Great Fridge

This is a great fridge. Pros: it has lots of space for my needs, it's quiet compared to my old fridge, the control panel on the front is easy to figure out, the ice maker refills fairly quickly, the outside is easy to keep clean (doesn't show most fingerprints), and it has a wine rack inside. Con: the water filter doesn't last a long time. I really like the KitchenAid brand.

Second time around

We bought this same earlier version refrigerator in 2012. We liked its ability to keep food cold without freezing it plus the size. Decided to replace in 2023 - ice maker motor quit, interior pan under condenser rusted out, had issues with condenser freezing over, some exterior rust pin holes in stainless - decided ten years was time to replace. Think the finish on new might hold up better against the sea air as we live on the water. This new model has the same plastic drawers which we ended up having to use marine 5200 adhesive to hold together on the old refrigerator. In total we like the size/storage space, the look, the redesign on the door handles, quality of the refrigeration.

the ice maker stopped working. I was told the wiring could not be replaced and it required a new door for almost $700. After talking to several people at customer service one of the managers said they would cover the cost of the door but I had to pay the labor cost

Water dispenser will not dispense water occasional

Bought refrigerator in January. The water dispenser has stopped working at least 4 times so far. However, the refrigerator does keep our food cold and fresher. I love that the vegetables last longer!
