Disappointing

Cannot get this to go back far enough to be under the counter, even though it is the same size as our previous kitchen aid. The cycle on this machine takes longer than our previous, and the 'ribs' on the top rack are spaced differently from the previous machine (center rack is wider), so dishes do not fit as well. Also, door is missing a screw on the inside. Will get a Bosch next time.

Nothing but a Lemon

This appliance was delivered September 20 and installed September 22. Today is October 11 and it has not been useable since September 27. It ran for 3 x at different cycles. Then the clean light kept flashing and hasn't worked. I have spent hours calling Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Whirlpool, Home Depot, Allstate and Home Depot customer service. As of yet I have not been able to get a repair person to get here. I did all the trouble shooting they asked but that clean light just flashes. I am NOT a happy camper and at this point would never consider buying anything from any of those place, including Home Depot. When a dishwasher does not work within a week, there should be better customer service. They won't even take it back at the store without the manufacturer repair person saying it has to be replace. Less than 1 week of working and it will be over 3 weeks old before anyone even looks at it. You should be ashamed that you do not stand behind a new product and make it almost impossible to get help.

Two-track Dishwasher

I bought this model to replace the one I have had for 11 years. The old one never needed a service call, but over time, the electric control panel started to fail, so I bought a new model. I liked this model because it had the control panel on the outside of the door instead of the inside edge only accessible with the door open. The silverware wrack stays in place but has ample space to load silverware. It is extremely quiet, although there are quieter models available. I didn't want a lot of extra features, so hopefully this will last a long time without needing repairs. I find the two-track dishwasher ample for my needs. The top rack is low enough to accommodate large pans if needed.

Have no problems with unit except that it's sooo low to floor, but a serviceman said that was to allow for larger space between racks. I don't like that it takes HOURS to wash and dry; my old KitchenAid did the same good job for a fraction of the time. It is very quiet, which I do appreciate.

Ordered a 3rack 5 cycle, received a two rack. Starts out quite then sounds like someone is knocking at the door. Much louder than older model, and made with a lot of plastic. Disappointed that to have a white front exterior it cost $350 more.

My old KitchenAid dishwasher was beginning to have problems so I purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher. I am very pleased with my new dishwasher. However, when I used the NORMAL cycle for my 1st load, I was not prepared for the length of time of the cycle...about 3.5hours. I contacted the website and received a very good instruction packet that explained the cycles much better than the user book that came with the machine. I spoke with Sha'Terrica on the chat line and she was a great resource. I now use the EXPRESS cycle and it is a shorter cycle.

Very happy with Kitchen Aid dishwashers

Prior to the current purchase I had basically the same Kitchen Aid model for 17 years. It was still going strong until we were flooded last Fall. I have been using this new Kitchen Aid for a month and love it. It is very quiet and the heated dry cycle actually works, unlike many other brands I got to use while renting different airbnbs for 8 months. It does not take as long for the normal cycle as other brands either. I did not buy the 3rd rack model because I also got to try several brands of those and thought the 3rd rack was rather useless. With only 2 racks you can put large pots in without them interfering with the arm. This model also has a lot of room for silverware.

So far we've only used it twice but it is very quiet and does a great job. I was concerned about the long cycle times compared to our old dishwasher. After investigating I read that the new dishwashers supposedly use less power and water even with the longer cycles. Time will tell if it actually does better than our old Montgomery Wards model.

This was a new install. Have used a few times as most of my dish ware is not suitable for d.w. Doesn™€™t seem to fit as many items as my previous Maytag at prior residence, & the plates don™€™t stand up straight. I wish it had the option to fold down one of the rows. Cleans well & very quiet which is a big plus. Updated my kitchen & chose white appliances; so glad because there are no problems with stainless steel streaking, prints. Was also more expensive than either the frig. or electric range all purchased at same time.

Bought and installed this dishwasher about a month ago. Very pleased at how quiet it is during the cycles. Installation was seamless. I only gave a 4-rating due to the hose clamps. I had to replace them with adjustable banded hose clamps. Following the instructions the dishes are clean and spot free. Overall very happy with the purchase

As my old KitchenAid dishwasher also did, my new KitchenAid dishwasher cleans anything I place in it! Having the Sani Rinse cycle makes me feel more secure with that feature. The only thing I am not fond of is the length of time it takes to do a complete cycle, though I do understand the reasoning, after reading the manual.

I have owned this dishwasher for about one month and during this time it has worked great. Although not top of the line I am very pleased with my purchase. I have joined the just scrape and put it in the dishwasher club™€¦..cannot get over what a joy it is to not prewash dishes and then put them in the dishwasher. This washer cleans dishes, pots and silverware sparkling clean. In between regular wash cycles I load what dirty dishes there are and use the rinse cycle™€¦™€¦again only scraping food off the dish, no pre-rinse.

After our house flooded with Hurricane Harvey the one thing I was excited about ordering were new appliances. I love the styling, features, and quality of KitchenAid products and was thrilled to purchase the 25.8 Cu. Ft. French Door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS), the beautiful dishwasher with a 3rd rack (KDTE304GPS), the 30" Double Oven with convection (KODE500ESS), and an enormous Microwave with a removable shelf for lots of options (KNHP519ESS) which had a special cherry cabinet built around it. Our kitchen was finally ready, just in time for Christmas 2018. The refrigerator was the first to have issues, with the ice maker leaking, stopping, freezing the entire thing up which had to be thawed with a hair dryer. We replaced the ice container 6/20, motor, seal and shaft 8/20, I/M leaking and stopped cooling on both sides 6/22. In August 2023 the entire fridge had quit working correctly and would have cost over 1K for parts which 'might' have solved the issue. Sadly our wonderful microwave started making a loud noise and quit running October 2023 and the technician gave us the news that the Magnetron shorted, and couldn't be fixed. We have a whole house surge protector so we know it wasn't caused by electrical issues. Now in the summer of 2024 our dishwasher quit working correctly. The motor has died in the main wash assembly. It would cost more than $600 as the entire bottom of the unit must be replaced. Since 3 of our 4 expensive KitchenAid appliances have failed I asked the technician about our very pricy oven which he warned us that if the heating element on the bottom goes out, the removal and repair for it will be astronomical, because of the way it is constructed. [ ] I absolutely love these appliances, they were all top notch and had every feature I could ever want, but I can't believe that I have spent over $10,000 and am having to replace 3 of the 4 in less than 6 years!

I've had this a couple of weeks. I love how quiet it is. I always rinse dishes before putting them in to wash so I don't know how well it will clean soiled dishes. The only quibble is that the rack allows my plates to slide down from their slots if I don't make sure it's absolutely level.

Not the quality dishwasher of the past

I bought this dishwasher less than a month ago and I'm not happy with it. This was my 3rd KitchenAid Diswasher that I purchased over 35 years. I was always happy with the previous ones. I'm so disappointed in this one that it will probably be my last!! There wasn't a manual to tell me about the different cycles and other important information. The first time I used it, I activated the NORMAL CYCLE. After it ran for 2 hours and 1/2, I thought something was wrong so I opened up the machine and stopped the cycle. After calling KitchenAid, I was told that the "Normal Cycle" runs up to 3 hours!! The next time I ran the EXPRESS cycle which was only 1 hour. This cycle doesn't have a drying capacity so the flatware is damp and needs to be wiped as well as the door being so wet I had to towel dry it. NEVER was this an issue with the other KitchenAid dishwashers that I had. There is a HEAT DRY button, but it adds 45 minutes to the cycle. That's not energy efficient for me. I bought this machine thinking I was getting the KitchenAid dishwasher quality of the past. I was mistaken!!!!

1. Doesn't leak on floor like my old dishwasher 2. Cleans dishes better than my old dishwasher 3. It's quieter than my old dishwasher 4. It hasn't broken down yet (knock on wood) 5. So for now I'm happy & would recommend it

The utensil tray is poorly designed. It is on the side of the lower rack, so that you have to pull out the rack and bend over to put things into it. Door mount is soo much more convenient. It is extremely quiet.

Very quiet, took a bit of time being accustom to the lower door opening(door hinges lower than our last KitchenAid dishwasher). Inside upper rack can adjust for tall objects, nice touch.

Not a fan of today's dishwashers

Had less than a year and find it very lacking over my old Whirlpool which had a "soft disposal". It is roomy but I opted not to get the top shallow rack and find it awkward to load long handled cooking utensils. Dishes do not dry thorough and it takes nearly 3 hours for the normal cycle to complete - even with air dry! I have started using the shorter Express wash which does use more water but dishes are cleaner. That said, I am replacing it with a Fisher-Paykel dishdrawer which I have had in the past and find that unit more acceptable to my needs.
