Worst purchase I've ever made.

Purchased March 23rd, 2026. On May 17, I turned on the left front know, and a huge puff of flames and smoke came from under the glass top, my breaker to my kitchen flipped, and the entire front left side was smoking and a burning smell was in my house. I had to pull the range from the wall to unplug it, afraid of it causing a fire. Called lowes where i bought it, said GE warranty for a year. So called GE. Refused and exchange. Refused a refund. Was told never do they give refunds. It will always be repaired or exchange for the same thing. Repairman came. He was shocked that at only 42 days, it blew up like it did. Underneath the glass top was all burned out and black. He said that thank goodness someone was home, it could have burned my house down. Repairman stated could be fixed. Now I don't want the range due to being afraid of it blowing up again. They Refused to even just do an exchange for another GE product. Stated if it could be repaired, it has to be. Like wth? I've never in my 40 years of buying appliances never been able to get a refund or an exchange for a different item. So looks like I am getting it repaired. And reselling g this range on Facebook and probably lelosing over $1000 in costs. I will never buy another range like this or a GE product again. Also, never buy an extended warranty with Lowe's, they wont honor any of it either. So frustrated. And not one employee even cared that my house could be burned down, or we could have died when it blew up flames or even cared enough to be concerned with it happening again to me. Don't buy this product ever ever ever And the cleaning of the top of the range was awful. Just awful. I paid over $30 in the crest cleaning supplies, and not a dang thing worked to prevent streaks, cleaning grease off.

This range is complete garbage. I don™€™t know who designed this thing but putting a touch screen that responds to heat right where the intense heat of the oven escapes is just stupid. Not to mention whenever you clean this range the touch screen turns just about everything on when you wipe the screen. Mine is now locked in sabbath mode and I can™€™t use it. What a complete piece of garbage. Just for reference I did not choose this range it was in the house when we bought the house and we have no gas hookup in our subdivision so this electric price of junk is what we have.

Would give zero if I could. Bought this product while my kitchen being remodeled. Remodeled finished 2 months after purchase and delivery. Opened box and range was smashed in. Of course to late to return to lowes. Went through GE and after 2 weeks repair person came. Said not fixable. Ge refused to replace because not within 7 days. AND I waited for 10 days to get this answer after repair person came. This was a $2000 range. And I purchased a new GE dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. They offered me a $50 gift card. DO NOT BUY GE!!!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!

Unimpressed so far™€¦ The burners seem to take quite some time to heat up™€¦ And there is no indicator light to tell me which exact burner is still hot after I have turned off™€¦ so that™€™s a burn hazard. My less expensive LG heated up quicker and had 4 hot surface lights, one for each burner.

I love having a double oven. The small oven heats up quickly and handles the vast majority of my baking/cooking. Having two sized burners in one really helps match to pot size. Really like that the control knobs are slightly tilted down from the cooking surface but not upright where you can inadvertently turn on a burner. Only snafu is that the keypad currently does not fully work. Cannot use numbers 8,9 and 0. I suspect a defective electronic board. Service is coming. A bit difficult to set a clock or oven temp when lacking the use of those numbers.

I have always love the free standing range with double oven. The smaller oven gets about 85 to 90 percent of the use. I wish that there was some type of alert when you accidently leave the burner on but other than that love the unit.

The knob panel is not easy to see when the stove is on or off. This panel is exactly like my previous stove only it was on the back. Looks like you just changed the panel from top to bottom. The glass up very fast and is no easy to clean. Had 12 good years with the previous GE. So sorry this is not up to par.

I love the double ovens and have had no issues with them. The hot cooktop light comes on randomly, and will stay on for days. All the burners are too hot on the lowest setting. Food will continue to boil even on the melt setting. I have called GE about these issues and am waiting for a repair man. The first appointment I had, he was a no show.

Horrible stove, nothing but problems

I typically do not write reviews but felt this one could benefit others who are looking to purchase this particular stove. Two weeks into having this stove I had to call GE to come out and fix it. The hit burner light would not go off even though the burners were not hot. The technician replaced the mother board and the daughter board. Then about 2 weeks later we had to call them again because my front left burner stopped working altogether. The night before the technician was to come out, the hot burner indicator light came back on again. The technician determined that he would order that front burner to replace it and then indicated that perhaps he should replace the front left one as well since he didn™€™t really know why that hot burner light came back on again. I called GE and said that I wanted my stove replaced since I only had it for 2 months and had all of these problems plus the fact that I had to be off of work for everytime the technician needs to come out and fix it. GE said that they wouldn™€™t replace it unless they had to come out 4 times for the same issue!!!! Never heard of such an absurd thing as that! I decided to call the place where I bought the stove and told them all the issues I was having with it. They decided to over ride GE and send a new stove out. The new stove arrived and guess what? We went to set the time on it and none of the number features were working. Which means we now can™€™t use our oven since that same key pad is the control for setting the oven temperature. We call GE again and they will send a technician out which isn™€™t for another week. In the meantime I have this expensive stove in my kitchen and can™€™t use the oven. I have never been so disappointed in a product. For the first 3 months of having this stove, which was bought brand new, we couldn™€™t use the main burner and now the oven. One other thing I would like to add to this as well is that the cook top is extremely difficult to keep clean. You must clean it literally after every use otherwise it will be even harder to get it clean. I have used the recommended product to clean it but honestly I have found another product that Norwex makes to clean it the best but takes a lot of scrubbing to get it clean. I would never buy a GE product again after this experience. I know this stove will not last as long as my last stove did for aure.

mult problems with electronics, hard to keep clean

Within 4 years, the front left burner that is supposed to get hot faster began to over heat and stay over heated for up to an hour after it was turned off. The control panel had to be replaced twice within the first 6 months because the sound broke. This range is also a "bear" to keep looking clean. I have had other smooth top stoves, much cheaper than this one that I had no problem keeping clean, but this one always looks like it has smears and stains, and there are marks on it that just won't come off. The thing I like about it is the double ovens. The oven has worked well throughout.

For the price we paid, I'm happy with this stove/oven. 2 things I wish were different: the top oven is not convection and doesn't bake perfectly even, and the cooktop is very difficult to clean. It resists scratches well, I've had for 3 months and no scratches yet but there are stains just from having pots cooking. I've tried everything in my cleaning cabinet and nothing gets it looking new again. I wipe up splatters right away, and keep it covered with a silicone mat when not in use.

In eight months since i purchased the range it has already been repaired once and now I have to schedule another repair. First time two of the cook top control knobs failed. Now one of the control knobs the just been replaced few months ago fail again but this time is worse. While cooking white smoke coming out under the control panel with wire burning smell.

electronics need work

This is a replacement from our prior oven. The controls kept showing errors which no service technician could fix. We figured this was a one off and liked the dual oven so we got another. The new ovens timer button either doesn't work at all or works irregularly.

Warm/hot handle

The handle on the upper oven gets very warm, sometimes hot and could potentially burn a child.

GE and Costco fixed issues

We are on our 2nd unit as our 1st unit control panel quit working. Also had to replace 3 burners with the hot surface light control. GE and Costco replaced the unit for free. Glass top does not clean up as well as our Whirlpool did. It does heat up fast on surface burners and ovens. The oven seems to heat more from the top which I thought was a broils heat. I think I will buy the extra warranty.

Just as expected

I received my new double oven slide in range. It is nice and I took amazing in my kitchen. However, the hot surface light stays on even if the surface it's at room temperature. I just got it today but I will be calling GE to see if they can send me a technician to get it fix.

Good oven not what I wanted

I was so excited to get this but became disappointed so quickly. It was not clear that the air fry and convection is in the bottom oven. I wanted it to be in the top. I am replacing a counter top convection oven to have more space. I would not have gotten this oven if I had k own that.
